About Me
Hi, I'm Cathrina! (Ca-tree-na) :) I travel a lot for both work and for fun. I usually have no concrete itinerary whenever I'm going to a different place. Most of the best experiences I've had while travelling happened spontaneously. I love meeting/hanging out with locals and experiencing the place the way they do!
I was born and living in the beautiful Philippines for 16 years. The idea of traveling and seeing the world was almost impossible back then. Until our family moved to Canada... it opened a lot of opportunities for work and many other things! For that I’m forever grateful!
Hmm.. what else?? oh and I love spicy food A LOT! 🤤
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At the start, I signed up to save money from booking hotels/airbnbs. And I wanted to try something out of the ordinary. But now I love it because I meet the most amazing people (locals I and other travellers) through the app and I always have the best time!

Music, Movies, and Books
Book: The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard | Current movie I'm obsessed with: Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone | I listen to indie pop, bob marley songs, guardian’s of galaxy’s awesome playlist vol. 1 & 2, disco, hip hop, EDM, broadway, rock, some pop, r&b, jazz, disney songs... my playlist of the day depends on my mood or intention for the day. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Escaped the resort to flee to a small surf town an hour and a half away via public bus in Mexico by myself. Met some locals at a taco stand and became good friends with them. Stayed out late by the beach watching the stars and exchanged life stories. Tried to learn how to dance salsa. Then ended up staying the night. The next day I went surfing ‘til sundown with a board that they lend me.l because I told them I’ve only done it once and it’s one of my dreams/goals to learn how to ride the waves. (I’ve always loved the ocean.) I felt like I was part of a beautiful painting during sunset. This planet is truly beautiful. It was like a dream. I can’t wait to be back. ❤️
