ABOUT ME

I was a Peace Corps Volunteer on the very small island of Sao Vicente (Cape Verde) from 2008-2010. After living in Sao Vicente for 5 years, , I decided to return to the U.S with my husband who I met in Cape Verde. We now we live in Queens, NY.

PHILOSOPHY

One of my favorite quotes is Reese Witherspoon's Oscar acceptance speech and I feel that it defines why I joined the Peace Corps and what I am looking to do with my life: "people used to ask June how she was doing, and she used to say - 'I'm just trying to matter'. And I know what she means. You know, I'm just trying to matter, and live a good life and make work that means something to somebody." How I accidentally ended up working in Advertising is a story to share over a good beer :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great way to meet people from around the world and to make friends! I love the opportunity to share my knowledge with visitors and of course love getting the chance to get insider information when travelling.

兴趣

I never played sports growing up but 6 years ago I started playing tennis and I absolutely love it. Luckily I live 3 blocks from a park with tennis courts and in the summer I try to play as much as possible.
I of course also love travelling and am hoping to have the opportunity to explore more of the U.S and the world with my husband!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Is take a small fishing boat to one of Cape Verde's uninhabited islands with a group of friends. With freshly caught fish, we started a fire and had an incredible afternoon.
