About Me
Hi, everyone! My name is Kate, and I am a student of International Relations and Journalism in Marid.
I was born in Russia and moved to Galicia, Spain, when I was 14. Apart from giving me another two mother tongues, this experience shaped my mind. The numerous differences between my mother town and my new home fostered into me a desire for discovering the greater world and the wonders that it may offer to me.
So, here I am! Looking forward to meet new people and cultures, learn and discover. This time is going to be my first experience with couchsurfing, and I am full of expectationgs about it!
P.S. (SPOILER!) On the next trip, there are going to be two of us, please, continue reading ⇣⇣⇣
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Next July my boyfriend* and I are planning to make a backpacking trave throught Central Europe and we would love to meet people who would show us its true nature and spirit.
Our initial plan is a one-and-a-half week journey through Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Prague and Munich - too a short time, we know.. But we will try to learn as much as we can from it.
________________________________________________________________________________________________
*I am not sure about the best way of organizing a travel for two from one account. So, I think it is right to describe my boyfriend, in the same way that I've described myself :)
So, his name is Antonio, he is about to be 23, and he has just finished his degree in International Relations. He speaks the same languages as I do, safe for Russian and Galician, but it would be honest to recognized that in the rest of them, he is a better speaker. And I am better in grammar, so the equilibrium is perfect :).
Antonio is from Spain, and lives in Badajoz, where the weather in summer can easily get to 40 degrees, that is why we are looking for ways of escape to a more moderated climate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been a volunteer in several beautiful long-term and short-term projects, in the Red Cross, soup kitchens and some other associations. Having started being 14, I can still not stop.
It has been amazing to share my time, week after week, with children involved in programs of social reinsertion, watching them growing up and widering their minds.
It has been amazing to dance, every Friday with Alzheimer ill people, and to recieve their smiles when they recognized popular songs.
It has been amazing to make hundreds of sandwiches every morning of two Summers, and then share it with those who needed them.
It is just amazing to see that what you so can make a difference for somebody else. So, that's the "Amazing Thing I've Done".
Teach, Learn, Share
Antonio and I are both really into history and learning from different cultures . And I feel that I don't yet know enough about Europe, so I would love to see, hear and understand as much as I can.
What I Can Share with Hosts
The first thing that comes to my mind in what we could share with our hosts are the languages. I am really into learning , but I also enjoy sharing what I know.
And, along with the languages, the culture comes. So, it is all about speaking and sharing
But we can also bring some Spanish cookies :P
