We're Catinca (28) and Cristian Dorobantu (31), we're from Romania and on a long trip around Italy with our campervan. So far we've visited the north of the country, Toscana and Lazio. We're on our way to Sicilia and we'd love to meet and hang out with locals. We've found so many interesting stories and people.
We're now in Italy and would love to to the same- we want to meet up with locals, hang, and find out more about the real life and vibe of the place we're in. Of course, we love beautiful beaches and towns but we're more interested in experiences and meeting people. So if you want to have a drink and exchange stories about life & more, here we are. So many things over the years, but something relevant is that in the summer of 2015 we went on a tour across Romania with a documentary project. The goal was to find, film and record as many traditional fiddlers as we could find. We're passionate about the Romanian gipsy and traditional music. The once numerous singers are now either very old, hard to find, or have been replaced by their younger relatives, who are mostly interested in profit, ignoring the original and beautiful ways of interpreting this music. So their talent and folklore is starting to become obsolete, since very few people are still interested in them.
In this long journey, we met unbelievable communities, extraordinary places, people that are as kind and welcoming as they are talented and full of life.
On this road we fell in love and started our life together. It was truly an awesome thing we've done.
