About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bring my wife & 2 year old daughter to the U.S. from the Philippines!

ABOUT ME

I just returned last February after spending most of the last 6 years in The Philippines to which I expatriated in opposition to the policies of George W. Bush. (I also spent a little time in Korea, Japan & Taiwan.) I returned at first to San Francisco in late February 2010. Then I was working all over the mountain towns of Colorado and in Denver. Now I'a back in San Francisco. Wherever I go I am doing the same thing, working to bring my lovely wife Sheng & our little girl Lillian Inez to America too. They are my life. I love art, music, reading, movies, camping, sci-fi, myth & sharing stories of our experiences here on planet Earth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined this community last September 12; so I can't say I've done much yet! I surfed a lot in Denver & I need a couch to surf in SF at the moment myself. However, now that I'm back in San Francisco I'd love to host others (just as I have often done in times past) and as soon as I have a place again that is what I will do!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've both surfed & hosted a zillion times over in my life! I worked for Greenpeace 1990-1995 & lots canvassers who were travelling around the country working at different offices (or following The Grateful Dead, etc.) passed through our office in Austin. I had the pleasure to host at least 80% of them & it was fantastic! So many great people!

Interests

Social justice and environmental issues, Joseph Campbell & myths, reading, movies, documentaries, TV shows(mostly sci-fi), art, music, politics, history, etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

OK, the most amazing thing I have seen is without question my daughter's birth but that has probably been over used. So, I will go with having seen the power of many typhoons (hurricanes).

I'm a great cook and I have a lot of life experience from living in the the 3rd world and adapting to & learning from new cultures. Also I make a number of different styles of bamboo flutes from around the world.
