About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Daytrading, building capital to expand trading activities in Jakarta/Oslo :)

ABOUT ME

As hard as it is to describe myself, I think there are some things that cannot be left out...

I don't consider myself 100% Norwegian. The picture might reveal one reason, but another is that I don't think the same way that most Norwegians do in a lot of matters. When asked "where are you from?" I could answer something like: Born in Colombia, grew up in Norway and partly in the states, living in Jakarta.

I spent most of my life in Norway, a very safe and quiet place. That can make you narrow-minded and blind to the outside world and the harsh realities that people all around the world have to face every day. By traveling I am trying to expand my horizons and do so by getting in direct contact with the people in each country I visit.

I definitely wear my heart on the outside. If I feel comfortable with someone, they will see an almost immediate relaxed version of me. And if someone or something irritates me then I don't think I can hide it very well. My words, I can control, my body language and eyes tell it all though :D

If you want to understand more about how I think both professionally and personally, my blog would be a nice place to start. http://catkain.blogspot.com

PHILOSOPHY

The path of least resistance is also the path of fewest rewards.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have done nothing but receive from CS-members. Receive guidance, help, tips, fun and smiles whereer I go. I have been part of a CS-organized charity and volunteer project where we used donations from CS-Singapore to help vicims of the Merapi Volcanoe, with the help of Indonesian CS'ers in both Jakarta and Yogyakarta. I hope to do a lot more of this and of course to host people once I am no longer out traveling. For now I will still be traveling a while and hopefully get to meet and share experiences with more interesting and fun CS'ers along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met quite a few people in my trips in Asia, I hope to be able to host and give back more than I have soon :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have done is visit refugee camps surrounding Mt. Merapi in Java. Things to see there and stories heard, are the type of things that make you question everything you know.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that if you truly have the spirit of sharing and giving knowledge to other people, then you will end up receiving a lot more than you could ever give. I keep an open mind and often end up amazed and left with an open mouth :O
