I live with my husband and little fox-dog in Victoria BC. We have a small cozy space near the park and both work from home. Right now I'm contemplating whether we can offer couchsurfing to people here - I think ideally we would be looking for older/ or mature travelers who would enjoy sharing a meal and conversation. I am an immigrant to Canada so I'm still learning about the culture and city myself. There are some excellent places to visit nearby.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of my best 'CS' type experiences was being given a contact for a 'friend of a friend' who lives in the old geisha district of Kyoto. I phoned him up before my trip to Japan and he pretty much immediately invited myself and a friend to stay. He sounded nice on the phone so we went for it! He was welcoming, kind, and lived in a traditional japanese house, tatami mats, paper walls, the lot. Absolutely amazing and one of the best parts of my trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a fair about about different religions and theology. Especially the development of western science and religion and how they influence each other.

I am learning about health, especially bodywork, which includes massage and osteopathy.

I'm interested in a lot of esoteric sort of stuff, do bits of tai chi, know a bit about most nature-related systems of belief though would like to know more.

I also am quite good at cooking, though would love to learn more recipes especially ones from other cultures. I could teach you how to make some english classics like cottage pie, roast potatoes, trifle and so on.
