About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make peace with real life and valiantly try the artist's life
ABOUT ME
Having spent most of my verbal and ambulatory life in academic settings I have now been unleashed upon the waiting world, eager to empty its coffers for my own benefit and edification. Which is to say, the looming specter of responsibility has finally arrived at my door and the teeth-grinding joy of choosing pointless insurance options, etc. has now become mine to experience (rejoice!). Cynicism aside, I am ready to put into action those things which I have been practicing for many years now - cello playing, composing, conducting, and an overarching concern for the well-being of others and this planet.
PHILOSOPHY
Life seems to have a way of improving upon itself and resolving those same conflicts it also creates.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My couch is yours, perhaps yours can also be mine.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed in Prague and San Fran. Hosted once (full week) in Maryland. Hoping to be a more frequent host now that I will be living with less anally retentive housemates and possess a more stable schedule.
Interests
Cello, Dostoevsky, Wes Anderson, electroacoustic music, amygdalic reactions, rye bread, good beer, fixed gear bicycles, growing and eating vegetables, This American Life, minimalism, anabaptism mixed with continental philosophy and a frankfurt school view of aesthetics (I'm not actually pretentious but this seems to be the place where one addresses their versedness in the humanities, so try that one on for size).

Saw a guy eat his own face. No, not really, but wouldn't that be surprising?
