ABOUT ME

Jesse and I finally bought a house in Tonawanda, so we are no longer on Grand Island. The good news for Couchsurfers is that we are very close to public transportation to Buffalo and to Niagara Falls via a bus route and subway. We love the Falls and jump at any reason to visit there on our day off. We have a guest room in the making which will be remodeled and complete with a comfy futon...which I will make sure is comfy because I've slept on horrible ones before. We should have that room up and running by the end of May. Until then, there is a couch downstairs in the living room. We have a reptile room upstairs with reptiles in enclosures. Kinda like a mini-zoo of sorts. It's our hobby and we care for them very much. If you choose to stay with us and don't care for reptiles - sorry - there is a tank with one baby snake in the guest room because that little guy needs cooler temperatures than all the others. Oh, and there is a bunny in there too, which we can move if he turns out to be noisy. If you are fine with a snake, then come on over. We have hosted a number of guests and they all have had a great time!

About us: I am a teacher for young adults with neurobiological disabilities who are completing college credit. I will also be pursuing my doctorate come fall and am right now conducting research at the University at Buffalo until then. My husband is working in production at a medical plastics plant and going to school part time for electrical engineering.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life for the moment. Be happy you are alive. It's a gift that should never be taken for granted. Also, memories are your greatest treasure. I believe that memories are what makes us human.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My previous roommate Bobby and I have both couchsurfed and have had hosted numerous couchsurfers. Jesse and I have hosted many a couchsurfer in Niagara Falls, and we have couchsurfed in Ithaca.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I lived with Bobby (under BMK), we hosted many couchsurfers and even couchsurfed ourselves. In Niagara Falls with Jesse, we have hosted plenty of couchsurfers from all over the world who want to see the falls.

Interests

movies: comedies, pscyhological thrillers, (some) drama, (some) horror

Music: anything that isn't "pop" or new rap/hip hop. 90's rap/hip hop is ok. We like almost anything when it comes to music

Books: Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Clockwork Orange, more upon memory boost...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have bungee jumped off the highest bridge in the world: Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa. Note: no, I will never do that again. Sky diving was so much more fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

Jesse and I can teach you anything you'd like to know about animals and beer. My mother is French and I speak it fluently, so there is something there. Also, we're from Buffalo and we know good food. As for things we want to learn: anything you've got. No such thing as useless information.
