About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to study as much Chinese as humanly possible
ABOUT ME
I love good company, especially if they like to cook, drink coffee and tell fantastic tales of glory or adventure.
I believe in fate, going to new places, constant change, reevaluation, trust, hard work and treating yourself well. The sun + the perfect combination of colors + good company, cooking, Blacks cigarettes, long hot showers and singing loudly can make ANY day better.
I'm always up for a good chocolate bar, long LONG walks, random bike rides, games of sudoku or research about gender, sex, language or how people learn and come to their worldviews. In my spare time, I try to translate Chinese children's books to keep myself from losing what Chinese I already know.
Pandora, podcasts and documentaries keep me sane on a daily basis.
I believe talking with other people helps me verbalize things I've already known about myself but were not able to pinpoint.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to remember, as often as possible, all the times that I've been completely and utterly content, romanced or in awe. Then, I'm satisfied and all is well.
"Power is the freedom and ability to not have to please."
"We did not change as we grew older; we just become more clearly ourselves."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Three years ago, I climbed Tai Shan and tied a red ribbon on a tree off the side of a cliff. A couple months ago, I climbed Tai Shan again and saw that that red ribbon was still the only ribbon on that tree. Not only has the tree grown and the ribbon is now out of my reach, I've tied a second ribbon on the bottom branches in hopes that I can be awe again in a couple years.
