About Me
Greetings fellow Couchsurfers!
I am a kiwi girl, born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand. However, until recently I lived in Melbourne, Australia for just over 3 years. Here I worked full-time while completing my masters in Public and International Law part-time.
In August 2015, I sold all of my stuff to go travel the world. So far the experience has been completely epic! In particular it has been the awesome people I have met on my journey that have made this trip so enjoyable. I have been having such a blast Couchsurfing and am completely blown away by the warmth and generosity of the people I have met through the site.
So far on this world trip I have been to Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Mongolia, Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Ireland and the U.K.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to make new friends with people from different cultures. I'm also wanting to meet people that can give me tips for my upcoming round the world trip. :)
Interests
My main interests are travel, current affairs, politics, learning about new cultures, and CrossFit (but I promise I don't talk about it all the time).
Music, Movies, and Books
My music tastes are varied - from top 40 to more local music. If we meet I can play you some awesome kiwi music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Interned for the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs at the UN headquarters in New York
- Spent a week volunteering with giant panda bears in China (so freaking cute!)
- Rode the Trans-Mongolian route of the Trans-Siberian Railway (Beijing - Ulaanbaatar - Irkutsk - Moscow)
- Attended the Golden Eagle Festival in the western Kazakh province of Mongolia (google it - it's amazing!)
- Took a speeding bus down the famous 'Road of 99 Bends' in Zhangjiajie, China
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm really into travel hacking and finding sneaky ways to budget / get value for money in general. I'm happy to share all my tips with you! I also love to learn about other cultures and can share with you information about the kiwi (New Zealand) way of life (hint: it's rather laid-back!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook for you. If you're lucky I might even make you some delicious afghan biscuits (cookies), which are a kiwi classic. I can also provide hosts with advice on a multitude of topics, including travel, budgeting, and health and fitness.
