About Me

I joined Couchsurfing in its early days for adventure, and let's face it, cheap accommodation. Pre-airbnb, when even a hostel cost £30 each a night at least.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a couchsurfing experience in Fuji-yama in Japan with a great guy who picked me up in the pouring rain and even bought me a curry.
I've stayed with two groups of people in Nottingham, on guy made us curry and gave us music and they other couple made us Mexican food and we talked with all night.
I have also stayed with one couple for a weekend in Romford near London, although it was a bit far from central London it was well worth the extra travel as they were so nice and we were accommodated so well.
Great experiences every time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've visited the overgrown historic relic Ankor Wat. Seeing those massive structures covered in trees while still in-tact was a tribute to great architecture was really awesome in the fullest sense of the word.

I also had a fantastic time hitchhiking across Switzerland, meeting many fun and friendly people along the way.

In July 2010 I hitchhiked in Japan from Hakata to Tokyo over the course of a week. I met some amazingly kind and interesting people along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm studying Korean language so I'm able to walk through the basics of the writing system, some common phrases and basic sentence structure with English-speakers (and maybe others!).
I have a degree in Biology so I love to learn and teach about the world around us, I've got a special interest in insects and other sorts of bugs.

I love photography (I've considered it a possible career route a few times) and am working on my digital and analogue skills, including some darkroom ones.

I had a job as an English teacher in a Korean kindergarten so I'm used to teaching the basics of English to people and kids who don't know them. I guess that means I'm pretty good with kids too!

I'm also my family's tech-support. If anyone has a problem with their computer, they usually ask me to help. I've got a good knowledge of Windows, Macs and a little Linux know-how.
