About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live creatively.

ABOUT ME

I'm a poet & fiction writer for children & young adults, living with my retired husband in the Hills, outside Melbourne. I love cooking, knitting & sewing. This year I am not buying any clothes that I can make. I'm also learning French, writing a novel & some creative nonfiction pieces and teaching professional writing. I have two adult children & two adult step-children.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life mindfully, generously and sustainably.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a spare room with a fold-out couch in an outside bungalow (without bathroom facilities) and I would like to offer it to travellers with similar interests. However, couchsurfers need to realise that we live an hour and twenty minutes outside Melbourne CBD, in the Hills. There's a lively cafe scene close by and a cinema, two bars and lots of lovely bush walks, but it is not the CBD - although there are regular train services to and from the city - however we have to arrange to pick you up and drop you off.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have hosted many wonderful guests when we lived in Belgrave and would like to continue to do this. Currently not travelling ourselves as we live with my aged mother and our needy rescue dog.

Interests

Reading, writing, French language & culture, travelling, poetry, textile arts, art. We live in an area that is rich in Australian birdlife and I love seeing the lyrebirds, King Parrots and rosellas that live in Sherbrooke Forest. I love cooking for guests!
