ABOUT ME

I just spent the past few months as an executive director for a grassroots nonprofit doing disaster relief in New York. Now I am working on a social enterprise to support medicine men and women in indigenous rainforest communities to pass on their knowledge to their youth, and preserve the land where the medicine grows. I studied medicinal plants with a Mayan medicine man for 8 months in Belize. I have worked for several non-profit organizations including an orphanage in Guatemala, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps in Taos, New Mexico and Itzamnah Society in Belize.. I love to make a positive difference in people's lives. Im also a salsa instructor. I have a big heart I wear it on my sleeve. Im a closet cowgirl but only break the boots out when Im pushing cows. Ive bushwacked through jungles with the natives, and strapped on the high heels with the city dwellers. I love nature it is a part of me, so being in the mountains, woods or on the ocean are things that bring joy to my heart. I love to go out and have fun in the evenings but I also really value waking up early. I like to have passionate and meaningful conversation and while I have many stories I really enjoy listening too and I love to learn from other people.

Laughter is medicine for the heart. I love my life... my philosophy is to be one with the world and the beauties and horrors it contains. Help those that you can and challenge yourself every day to progress towards harmony within yourself, community, spirit and the earth

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The people I have met through couchsurfing really have changed my life. I am so grateful for all the amazing places I have had the chance to go to and I have never had a bad experience on it. I have made some amazing friends that I have kept in touch with for years, I feel like the universe has put me where I am meant to be but when I think literally the method I have gotten there is often through couch surfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ive climbed 4 volcanoes 1 with ice clamps, participated in sacred mayan ceremonies, scubadived 130 ft down past sharks to a stalagtite and stalagmite cave got a little nitrogen narcosis, played with cowboys and indians out west, been the only white girl in latin clubs in ghettos across the world dancing her shoes off..literally I have a tendency to kick my shoes off and dance barefoot, meditated in the same room as the dalai llama and much more but the amazing parts of all these experiences are the details I havent included so if you wanna know you just ask

Teach, Learn, Share

Latin dance and painting lessons, advice on any health ailment you may have, foraging mushrooms, teaching spanish. I generally will find something of worth to give to you and if it isnt one of my skills it may be an herb from the rainforest or some berries from the store. I like to cook and garden and work hard if its for a good purpose and someone is going to benefit from it. Ill share all the info I know about medicinal plants and chat with you about health issue and remedies
