Hello to my future friends :’) My name is Cayla, originally from Boston, Massachusetts (yes exactly what you’re probably thinking, home of the sports teams, Celtics 🏀Red Sox⚾️Patriots🏈). My close friends call me Lew, a cute nickname coined from my time working at an overnight camp I was once upon a time a camper at! Either Cayla or Lew is fine 🐝

Despite being from Boston, I’m not too into sports! Although I’m truly a city girl at heart, my soul just explodes in the vast nature around me & by making beautiful connections. I’m driven by all things of the soul and the heart. I love the arts of all kind (please tell me you have a guitar or any instruments- I’m there to play music with you!!!) and couldn’t live a day without listening to my favorite playlist. I truly come alive in spaces filled with good people, good music and good food!

With that being said, I’m a pretty good cook if I do say so myself (and maybe all my friends do too😇). I would be so delighted to share meals with my future friends, exchange ideas and learn about the cultural importance of every new dish I get to eat. Part of the reason I travel the world is to connect through food and immerse myself in these beautiful cultures.

Ultimately though, I am so passionate about connecting with humans and animals all over this planet. I want to experience every culture for what it is. I want to embrace it all. I want to see every inch of this Earth, from mountains to deep waters and everything in between. I am a true nature lover, I have been backpacking, trekking and exploring for over 10 years and have tried to take every risk possible (from skydiving to scuba diving). Maybe I’m a bit of a recovering adrenaline junky 🤪 but what’s living life if not taking a few risks?

Let’s adventure through city living, kayak/paddleboard in the ocean, hike mountains or visit all the best restaurants!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friends have had some of the most beautiful experiences on couch surfing while traveling the world and that’s inspired me so much to take a risk and put myself out there too.

I’m usually one to be spontaneous, hop on a bus or plane by myself, book hostels and make friends wherever I go. I think one of the BEST parts about traveling is immersing yourself in the culture and to be open hearted to the wonderful humans around the world. I truly want to build connections that last a life time and I want to see the world through your eyes. I want to deeply feel what it means to LIVE in these places for each and every one of you.

As I know all too well how expensive the USA is, I’d love to welcome my future friends into my home someday I return back and help you explore the world not only with a native but in a cost effective way!

I believe one of the keys to a happy life is enriching your heart and soul with other amazing souls. So let’s open our arms and create some memorable experiences!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have ever done is jump out of an airplane in Aruba! I was PETRIFIED but there was no turning back once I was in the air. From jumping out of the plane, feeling complete over stimulation to the parachute coming out and seeing the gorgeous world under me…my soul was never the same. Truly the highlight of my life and I’d do it again 100x over. ✈️

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I have been a swim instructor, lifeguard, mentor and educator for years! I would love to teach some willing friends to become comfortable and stronger in the water. 🌊I’d also love to teach more english and some spanish if that’s an interest, I’ve been a writer for many years and would love to help anyone feel more confident in their writing skills! For social media, personal use or professional use. 📝

I’ve been vegan for 6 years and am absolutely ready to show off some of my best cooking skills & recipes! Also very knowledgeable about herbal healing ❤️‍🩹

I’m huge on emotional awareness and friends confide in me like a therapist. I love being there for people and just guiding them through challenges thoughts and emotions.

I can teach the basics of guitar and a few vocal exercises as well! Or some cool dance moves. 🎸

Learn: I am so eager to just dive into new cultures. I would love to learn more about the history of where you are from, languages you know, native food recipes, healing practices/recipes as well. I’m also looking to improve my crafts and music so bonus if you can teach me a new instrument or craft! 🧶

Share: I would love to share stories and wisdom about our lives & cultures overall. I am very interested in sharing quality time and delicious meals. Also want to exchange our favorite music and movies!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very excited to make new friends! I would love to share time together in your favorite ways or even just quiet company because being alone sucks sometimes! I willing to help with household chores, making yummy meals and having deep conversations equally to laughing until our bellies hurts.
