Welcome to Cayo Dental's Couchsurfing profile! We are a dental clinic located in the historic city of Kandy, Sri Lanka, and we are excited to offer a unique opportunity for travelers to stay with us and volunteer at our clinic.

Our one-room accommodation comes with a comfortable bed and everything you need for a comfortable stay. In exchange for your stay, we require that you volunteer at our clinic for a few hours each day. This can include tasks such as observing our skilled dentists, assisting with basic administrative tasks, or participating in our community outreaches.

We do understand the importance of relaxation and self-care. Our volunteer program can be intense, so it's essential to take some time to recharge and indulge in some entertainment. Our accommodations offer Wi-Fi, so you can access your favorite streaming services and enjoy your favorite shows or movies.

We also encourage our volunteers to bring along their favorite books to read during their downtime. Whether it's a classic novel or a self-help book, reading can be a great way to relax and unwind after a long day at the clinic.

We understand that everyone has their own personal preferences when it comes to music, so we encourage our volunteers to bring along their favorite playlists to listen to while they work or relax. Whether it's classical music to soothe the soul or upbeat pop music to keep you energized, we want our volunteers to feel comfortable and at ease during their stay with us.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing that Cayo Dental has done is to provide dental care to underserved communities in Sri Lanka. Through our monthly dental outreaches, we have been able to provide basic dental exams and treatments to those who otherwise would not have access to dental care. We have seen firsthand the impact that our services have had on the lives of individuals and families in these communities. It is truly a humbling experience to be able to make a difference in the lives of others through the power of dentistry.

Teach, Learn, Share

At Cayo Dental, we believe that volunteering is a two-way street. While you offer your valuable time and skills to assist us in our mission of providing dental care to underserved communities, we offer you the opportunity to teach, learn, and share knowledge and experiences.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our skilled dental professionals and observe their techniques and methods. Additionally, we encourage volunteers to share their own knowledge and experiences with our team, providing valuable insights and perspectives.

We also offer language and cultural exchange programs, where volunteers can teach English and learn Sinhalese or Tamil, the local languages. This provides a great opportunity to improve language skills and immerse oneself in the local culture.

We believe that learning is a continuous process, and volunteering at Cayo Dental provides the perfect platform for both personal and professional growth.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cayo Dental can offer our hosts a unique experience that revolves around oral health and hygiene. We can share our knowledge and expertise with hosts who are interested in learning more about dental care and techniques for maintaining healthy teeth and gums. We can also share insights into the culture and lifestyle of Sri Lanka, providing hosts with a deeper understanding of the country and its people. In return, we hope to learn from our hosts about their own customs and traditions, allowing us to expand our knowledge and appreciation of different cultures. We can also offer our help with tasks and chores around the house, such as cooking, cleaning, and gardening. We believe that our program can provide a mutually beneficial experience for both hosts and volunteers, and we look forward to sharing our skills and learning from our hosts.
