Hellooooo! My name is Cayo (pronounced: Kai-Oh), I'm a 24-year-old ginger Welshman (although no Welsh accent here... sorry to disappoint!) travelling around the world looking to meet amazing people, see beautiful places and make great memories. This is my first time Couchsurfing!

I primarily grew up on a small holding amongst the valleys, cows and sheep in a tiny rural village in the middle of nowhere, southwest Wales. I went to university in Cardiff to study Film and once finishing there found a job in the film industry in London and have been living there ever since.

I love chatting and meeting new people, I have a huge passion for film and photography as well as music! I love Drum and Bass and underground dance music, I produce and DJ drum and bass music and often work filming and photographing events and DJs across the UK. I really enjoy playing table tennis and other sports as well as going to the gym. I am a huge fan of podcasts and listening to interesting people tell their stories or educate on different topics from science and life experience to geopolitics and psychology.

Music, Movies, and Books

For someone who has a degree in film and works in the industry... I'm not the biggest film watcher. But that doesn't mean I don't like watching movies. I am a huge Lord Of The Rings fan and would probably make that trilogy my favourite films.

As for music, I love whatever my brain decides it takes a liking to! From Hip Hop, Country, Drum and Bass, Rock and Disco to Film Soundtracks and Musicals. It really is a bit of everything.

I'm trying to get more into reading as its never been something I've been too interested in up until the last 2-3 years. I enjoy reading non-fiction on interesting topics from the neuroscience and the brain to ancient history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18 and had finished school I went travelling around New Zealand for 6 months, living in a Toyota Estima with Tom, my best mate from school.

I can share my knowledge on how to DJ, produce music on Ableton, speak a bit of Welsh or help with photography or videography! I'm a qualified level 2 Swimming teacher so if you need to brush up on your breaststroke technique, I'm your man!
