ABOUT ME

I am a wanderlust, free spirited Pisces.

Moved back to my homeland of New Jersey in 2015 after living, studying, traveling, and teaching in Melbourne for 2+ years. Slowly adjusted to the 'normalcy' of doing this so called 'adulting'. Just finishing teaching my first full year start to finish in my own classroom. Slowly regaining my wanderlust tendencies!

I'm easy going.. I love my alone time but equally enjoy being in the company of wonderful people. I love the outdoors, animals, music, food, reading, and art, but I also love a crazy night out and can get very silly. I enjoy cooking and would gladly prepare a meal for a lovely host or a guest. I really don't like the cold unless I am snowboarding (absolutely love it). I also enjoy (attempting) to surf but I am still working on barely getting up, which I'd like to change! I am an animal and nature lover. On the weekends I enjoy going on long hikes. I longboard and really like anything that has to do with the outdoors!

PHILOSOPHY

everything happens for a reason.. you know when you just happen to decide to go a certain way on a busy city street & see someone. it just always amazed me that in this big world when you unexpectedly cross paths with a person or an event that it was meant to be somehow.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I donated but have neglected to remember how awesome this website is for a few years, so I'm back to make good use of it! I did move around a lot.. Back and forth from Australia etc so I did not have the best opportunity to host for a bit but I still made some awesome connections via friends who we're hosting couchsurfers and spent time showing them around and doing a bit of unplanned hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only couchsurfed a few times and had awesome experiences.. however, I have had countless numbers of friends and friends of friends from different states and countries stay with me in Jersey and in Melbourne. I love hosting & meeting new people! New Jersey tends to have a bad rep and I really enjoy showing it off and blowing peoples' minds about what New Jersey is really like!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: first I must admit that I fall asleep during 85% of movies, so they need to be funny to keep me awake. I'm also guilty of enjoying a good chick flick and cannot keep my eyes opened for an action movie at all (sorry guys).

music: I have a very eclectic mix. I love horrible 80's music (Wham! George Michael etc.), and everything else people like to make fun of me for; Ricky Martin, Celine Dion.. I appreciate music I can dance to, I like a jazzy, funk mix and anything with some nice drumming going on. I also love indie music, good old rock and roll, and alternative, even sometimes country.

books: I enjoy reading biographies and books that tell me about people who have more complicated lives than me.. lovely bones, the five people you meet in heaven, to kill a mocking bird, of mice and men, tuesdays with morrie, invisible monster, anything by Chuck Palahniuk, any biogrophies, Lady Q: the rise and fall of a Latin Queen

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the best decision of my life.. moving to Australia all by myself. It opened many other doors!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know the city of Melbourne pretty well by now, so I am happy to show people the fun places to go, beautiful parks, and good places to eat, and drink!

In Jersey I live right by New York and not too far from the Jersey Shore.

What I Can Share with Hosts

lots of laughs, stories, home cooked meals, dancing, and entertainment! I can teach you how to longboard, snowboard, and cook!
