I'm creating a sustainable homestead and a sturdy local business that sells Amish furniture, locally made wine and distills alcohol for drinking and for fuel

ABOUT ME

I got onto this site because I figure there's a lot of very cool people who are traveling around the world and trying to do it on the cheap and need a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads while on their journey. I have done a fair share of motorcycle touring and have always enjoyed crashing at people's pads in lieu of the sterile hotel. It lends to making lasting friendships, too! I have a nice country home about 16 miles north of Ithaca, NY on the west side of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of NY State. It is a beautiful, special place I call home and am always eager to show visitors what a great place it is. I sometimes call it Shangri-La not only for its beauty but because it is off the beaten path to a certain extent.

My home is open to people who are peace-loving, have a sense of common courtesy and reasonable hygiene ( I have laundry facilities and surfers are welcome to shower and launder while here). I have a little dog who is very affectionate but may be a hindrance to those who are allergic to dogs. Sorry :( Otherwise, be respectful, don't steal my stuff and clean up after yourself and my home is your home for a night or three.

PHILOSOPHY

Do whatever your heart desires provided you do not harm others in pursuing that desire. Make the Earth a richer, healthier place in your wake.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, my interest is solely in hosting a clean, safe, comfortable place for one or two travelers to avail themselves of. I expect people to be respectful and honest and in return they will be given my gracious hospitality. All the best to you all! Peace.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mostly experienced through my BMW motorcycle group's "Anonymous" program that was pre-internet form of this. Traveled around US staying at people's homes along my journey, getting fed, enjoying their company, being treated to kindness and getting mechanical help along the way, too!
