Informazioni generali
Chi sono
We enjoy little adventures that have included ice climbing & canyoning & caving, and organized events like the Single Speed Mountain Bike World Championships in NZ.
It has also been noted by guests that we're really into bicycles. It's true. And if you're not into bikes you might think we're a little obsessive! If you do have time and interest, we'd love to find a bike for you and take you out on a mountain bike ride!
Most of our free time is spent near home, in our small town, spending time with the dogs, hiking or mountain biking or watching movies or in other ways just spending time with friends, old and new.
Between us, we're also into math & science, teaching & learning, singing, good food, good drink, good friends. We do love our state and our town, and if we can share some of what we love about our hometown with you we're happy to do it.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
Life is full of amazing moments. Here are just a few of ours:
~~ Canoeing at night through bioluminescent algae (dinoflagellates, I think) during a thunderstorm on the northern CA coast -- and years later doing it again off of San Juan Island.
~~ From a nearby hillside, watching three sets of 4th of July fireworks compete with an amazing display of lightening over Denver... and sharing the experience with a friend who was celebrating her birthday
~~ Listening to Utah Phillips tell stories about being a "bum" ~ Listening to Sir Roger Penrose speak about math and philosophy
~~ Canyoning and then abseiling down Empress Falls in the Blue Mountains ~ Abseiling and blackwater rafting in the Waitomo Caves and seeing the glow worms
~~ Heli-Ice Climbing Fox Glacier in NZ (WOW)!!!!
~~ Finishing a 100 mile (him) and 50 mile (her) mountain bike race, and a few 24 hour races.

The bike mechanic can show you how to fix a flat or a broken chain on a bicycle. The actuary isn't much help with practical things. ;-)
We may be able to find a loaner bicycle for you, and take you on a mountain bike or road ride! And if we can't join you, we can give you some great tips on local bike rides.
