About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find what I'm looking for and then have a beer with it

ABOUT ME

L.A. & MYSELF:
I'm an open book...if you ask I'll let you know. I live in Los Angeles. It has welcomed me and I have called it home for almost 2 years now. There is always something new to see, but I often stick to Venice Beach or Downtown L.A. during my free days. I work many part time jobs to pay the bills and keep a roof over my head. However, I aspire to make a career creatively someday in writing, photography, or videography.

COUCHSURFING:
I often run into a fellow couchsurfer by accident down on the Venice Beach boardwalk. I have housed a few couch surfers here in L.A. and would be willing to house more depending on my ever-changing schedule. I'm willing to do some "L.A." things with couch surfers, like visiting Hollywood blvd., seeing an indie movie, getting a drink by the beach, going to a Dodgers game, etc... IT IS A MUST that we hangout before you crash on my couch. I live with one other person and I simply can't invite strangers to stay the night without knowing their character first.

Have any questions about L.A. or myself just message me. I'll give you an honest answer.

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I found out about Couch Surfing while interviewing a Purdue student for my collegiate paper. I thought it bizarre at the time, but found myself trying it out when needing a place to stay in NYC a year later.

SURFING:
I stayed with two people in NYC the five days I was there. I tasted the good and bad of couch surfing. My first experience was great. We talked, traveled the city and learned a great deal about each other's life. That's what I am looking for when surfing and out of a surfer. Why else use this site if you can't meet and learn about another person's life.

Having said that my second experience that week was the polar opposite. My host didn't engage me in conversation and just wanted the presence of a guest(s) in his place. Although I did meet the other surfers in his studio, I found myself feeling unwanted.

L.A. SURFERS:
I hosted couch surfers for a week during the fall of 2012. I believe I hosted one person for three nights and then a group of frenchmen for a night. The frenchmen were heading to Vegas in the morning so we met briefly for food and a drink before they crashed on my floor. Typically, I would rather spend an evening or day with any surfers before they crash at my place. The Frenchmen were very polite, clean, and had great attitudes despite being very exhausted from their travels. They left early in the morning for VEGAS! and kept my place looking better than we they arrived.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is a great question. I am open to suggestions from surfers. Also if you have a book you want to swap I have a good collection of Raymond Chandler and Charles Bukowski books. I also enjoy reading books on film. I'm a fan of Alfred Hitchcock, The Coen Brothers, and Tarantino to name a few movies. Musically I can dig just about anything in the right setting.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lots of stuff we can all learn from each other whether useful or not.
