About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bicycle touring around Oceania and SE and Central Asia.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in the American Midwest, I moved to Germany a few years ago to get my Masters degree in environmental ethics. As the story often goes, I wound up staying longer than anticipated because I fell in love with a boy...

We're now taking a year off to travel around on our tandem bike!

PHILOSOPHY

"You reap what you sow." - My mother.... Thank you mom, because my garden is flourishing right now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host when I can, however, unfortunately I've been living in rather small cities where no one is interested in visiting... :/ Also when traveling, couchsurfing is the number one thing I go to- even if it's to get advise on where to live or make a new friend.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only great ones. I've found all of my hosts to be downright amazing! I'm also getting in to WWOOFing, and exploring this way as another means to travel and get a different perspective of the people/culture that I'm visiting. I've also found quite a few hosts that own tandem bikes, which is a fantastic way to see a city.

Interests

My current interest is safely biking from New Zealand to somewhere in Central Asia 8n 2018.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, there are too many books to name right now! I do, however, love reading outside in the sunshine, inside by a nice fire or under my covers, in the morning, and at night.

I love to listen to music that's full of life and entices me to dance, or just generally puts me in a good mood- no specific genre. I'm also becoming a really, really big fan of NPR/radiolab/this american life podcasts. So, so great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had the opportunity to sleep under a blanket of stars, on top of a mountain. Dance with Spanish Rastafarians until dawn in the streets of Dresden. Participate in a German frat initiation. Build a biodigester in Brazil... the list goes on!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm one that's always up for learning something new. My current focus has been what delicious fruits/plants one can find growing locally, in the wild.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are full of good cheer and don't mind sharing our hosts. Given enough time, both of us are known to be fairly good cooks in the kitchen.

Countries I’ve Visited
