Traveling when and where I can - mostly on a domestic kick these days within the United States

ABOUT ME

I'm a divorced father of three great kids that keep me honest. I'm a musician who enjoys making some racket playing everything from Bach to rock. Sometimes my work as an attorney even allows me to be a knight-in-shining-armor, which is especially fulfilling. (Aside: long ago, all of my high school/college buddies and I decided that one of us had to go to law school to bail the rest of us out. I drew the short straw. C'est la vie.)

I'm way more active than passive, and more summer than winter. While I own a TV, it's rarely on. Red wine over white -- and an imperial stout or IPA over either. Love sushi, and fried chicken. Barbeque!

I've lived in small towns and big cities, and can appreciate both -- although I honestly love the rich opportunities of the urban jungle much more. Then again, I also enjoy an hours-long hike where I don't see a soul on the trail. I guess I need a variety of both.

If I have a superpower, it's finding free, on-street parking in a city, or a close parking space at a crowded location. I can't explain it! I also seem to be able to accurately size someone up in a matter of minutes (but luckily without judging them).

PHILOSOPHY

Mine is largely twofold:

(1) Carpe diem; and
(2) the Golden Rule: treat others as you would like to be treated.
