About Me

ABOUT ME

Alternatingly an energetic dancing, running, exploring traveler and a meditating, reflecting, questioning vagabond, my life feels a bit discombobulated at times but it's working out really well for me.

I think most people initially find me to be very shy, and that may be, but mostly it's that I do not care about the majority of topics most people discuss. I rarely watch movies or tv and couldn't care less about sports. I can make small talk about the weather for hours though, like any good Canadian!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't often couchsurf in the 'traditional' sense, but still use the couchsurfing website for meetups or events in the cities I travel to.

Interests

I have a growing interest in permaculture, urban farming, community building, Buddhism and mind gardening.

Current hobbies include freediving (only when I'm on tropical islands), running, dancing, handstands, handstands while dancing, jumping over things (though I'm not good enough to call it parkour), motorbiking, meditating and sometimes even yoga.

Oh and I love to build shit out of old pallets!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leading the evening meditation on a farm in northern Thailand while wearing a Winnie-the-Pooh hat.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I have a degree specializing in nanotechnology and quantum physics, but I can't say I could teach much of that... I slept through most of it (still graduated!).

I have stayed on several organic farms in the past couple years where I've been learning about permaculture and natural building. I've also been trying out urban gardening back home in Canada and have worked as an arborist there too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love fixing things and have a very mechanically and electrically inclined mind. Have a hammer and a pry bar? I would love to build you a planter box or herb garden or some shelves or a custom frame to true the rims off your Norton Commando or whatever idea you have!

Something broken in your house? I'll tackle it, or if its over my head I can probably tell you who you need to hire and what to look for.
