About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Listen. Laugh. Dance.

ABOUT ME

I am a recent politics graduate, long-time drifter, and all-time optimist. I like dancing at sunrise, hitchhiking in lorries, playing with toys, writing, feeling mud between my toes, desert horizons, sharing stories, sharing food, sharing skills... sharing in general =)

PHILOSOPHY

"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always."

Smile =)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

With open door (when I have one) and open mind

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most has not been through the site, but rather when my poor organisation leaves me stranded and I am amazed, over and over again, how many people around the world are kind enough to offer me a bed for the night. I've only hosted 2 people and stayed with 2 through the site, but through those experiences I've met people I always want in my life.

Interests

People. Ideas. Bright colours. The unexpected.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Hard to pick favourites, but I tend to go for surrealism, black humour and epic cinematography. A few current loves include 'El Infierno', 'Rebellion', 'Fight Club', 'La Montana Sagrada', 'Delhi Belly', 'The Fall', 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'...

Music: Tastes fairly eclectic and mood-dependent, but I love old rock, blues, reggae, Celtic, psytrance, acoustic, jungle, Middle-Eastern, Balkan, jazz, Flamenco...

Books: As a writer, I'm interested in where travel writing meets investigative journalism and anthropology, so I read a lot of that. Also political histories, satire, classic literature, poetry... when I travel I love to read local writers, so I'll probably ask for recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing things I've encountered are other people, and I could never pick just one!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always keen to teach, learn or share circus skills - especially poi or hula hoops. I also love to practice my Spanish or learn other languages, and learn traditional recipes and eco-construction techniques.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Montenegro, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
