About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see as much of the world as possible and enjoy every minute of the trip.
ABOUT ME
I'm new to CS, but I've heard about it for years. Haven't had much chance to use something like this until I moved to Germany and met Melissa who is a die-hard CSer. I was conceived in California and born in Connecticut in the US and that's how my entire life has gone. I've lived in eight US states and four countries. I've visited 46 of the 50 US states and 27 countries. I'll do just about anything once and almost never pass up an opportunity to meet someone new, travel somewhere I haven't been, or eat something I'd never previously considered.
PHILOSOPHY
I learn a dozen new things every day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm brand spanking new. I've just moved to Germany and am still unpacking. I have a pretty comfy couch, but right now it's surrounded by boxes and unconnected stereo parts. I'm working 10hr days and cramming my off-hours full of travel and new friends. So, I'm not sure when I'll be ready to host, but I hope it's soon. Also, I'm going on my first trip where CS will be the primary means for finding a place to crash. We'll see how it goes.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Still a newbie. About to have my first experience next week in Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Serbia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the summer of 1995, I was standing watch on the bridge of a Coast Guard ship as we rounded a point of land in the Bering Sea about 200 miles from the Arctic Circle. It was 10pm and the sun hadn't set because of how far north we were. Both the sky and the sea were an incredible gold color and there wasn't a wave to be seen. Suddenly, we were in the midst of hundreds of grey whales feeding in 150 feet of water. We slowed the ship and stood in awe as the whales swam all around us - including one who came up alongside the ship, rolled on its side and looked me right in the eye before gracefully sliding away from the ship.
