About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just married, now on a several month trip traveling around the world with my wife!

ABOUT ME

Do-er. Thinker. Mover. Shaker. Traveler. Capoeirista. DJ. Aspiring chef of all things delicious. Student of many disciplines, master of none.

I love to connect with people when I travel and learn about their culture, country, perspectives, and so on. I find the everyday things the most interesting, like going to the local market and cooking a typical meal of the region. Other simple pleasures include live music, good food, local celebrations/festivals, and so on.

I used to be more of a frenetic and adventurous traveler, now I like to take it easy and just experience the rhythm of life wherever I happen to go.

If we meet, I will more likely than not be traveling with my wife (we come as a pair!). We are just married and very happy. Both of us have traveled a good amount, are sociable, respectful, don't take ourselves too serious, and have a good sense of humor.

Lastly, at least one thing I promise is to leave some music with you. Every CS host I've had, one way or another I've ended up making them a compilation of music that we either enjoyed together or that I think they would like.

With all that said, we look forward to meeting you!

PHILOSOPHY

Speak soft, live loud.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to live in a house that hosted couch surfers. I was not on CS, the homeowner was, but many interesting CS-ers passed through. One was so great I gave him a copy of Walt Whitman's "Song of the Open Road" because, well, it felt right. My first couch-surfing experience was spending several weeks in Spain. I stayed with Lithuanians, Spanish locals, eccentric Turkish folks, and more. I had a great time and did all sorts of things I wouldn't have otherwise- like go rock climbing, ice skating, and play cards till dawn. I've never had CS folks stay with me in Minneapolis (less world travelers passing through the Northern Midwest of the U.S.) ) but I've been quite alright with friends of travelers staying with me and passing on the good karma.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Getting taken to secret rock climbing spots and all the best eateries in Barcelona, by my wonderful hosts of course!

Interests

New places and faces. Exchanging ideas. Playing capoeira wherever I go. FOOD: Cooking and, of course, eating : ) The art of living. Balance.
