Overview
About Me
I have lived in Seattle most of my adult life but recently moved to New York to be closer to nieces 9 and 12. I have couch surfed in France, Poland and Morocco. I’ve hosted numerous couch surfers with my ex-partner and met the most amazing people. Hosting couch surfers is like traveling without leaving home!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel but am not a good tourist. I would much rather interact with people than see the sights. All of my couch surfing experiences have been amazing and eye opening.
Interests
I love my job, love caring for my patients and really enjoy the people I work with in the fire department. I am an intermediate quilter, and love seeing other peoples quilts, and all kinds of art really. I am learning to fish, just a little bit obsessed with all things fishy at the moment. I like to garden and love plants that are both beautiful and delicious. I like cooking, reading, film, art.

Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught EMT classes in Haiti. I have taken an online class on how to learn. I have shared tea with locals in a tiny mountain village in Yemen.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Living in the fire service has taught me to be a good roommate. I try to practice "no trace" living when in someone else's home. I can cook a meal, I'm relatively handy and can do basic repairs. My friends tell me I can tell a good story. I'm more than happy to contribute to groceries.
