Overview
About Me
I'm a Structural Engineer focusing in Bridge Design in Portland, ME. I live with my best friend, travel buddy, and incredible fiancé, Ben. We have been together for almost 9 years and got engaged last March. I have recently become a "swammer" after being a competitive swimmer for 17 years. I would like to say I'm a yogi, but am not nearly coordinated or strong enough... still working on that. I love being outside hiking, biking, swimming, etc. but also very much appreciate a good netflix binge-watch with a cup of tea and lots of snacks. :) Ben is a Bioengineer, but unlike me, he can also use the right side of his brain and is an amazing artist and musician. He would love to play guitar/piano/ukelele/etc. with any traveling musicians!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The list of countries I've visited is way too short! I recently stayed with host families and in a volunteer bunkhouse in Costa Rica, and I think that is the absolute best way to visit a new place. I love to learn about the local culture from locals. (Even if there was a bit of a language barrier in CR - still working on my Spanish!) Growing up on the coast of Maine was amazing, and living in New England is an absolute blessing - I would love to host some people that are interested in hanging out in Portland (the best place for lots of food and beer) or taking a day trip to the beach!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped baby turtles find their way to the ocean for the first time, while the sun was setting after a day of zip-lining through the rain forest in Costa Rica... my favorite day on Earth so far.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to share beautiful New England with anyone and everyone!
I definitely want to learn more languages, even if it is just a few good phrases. :)
