CURRENT MISSION
Learn, day by day, to hear the incredible sound of life
ABOUT ME
Cecilia... is a pianist and teaches Chamber Music at the Venice Conservatory of music, and Andrea... (Andrew) is a physicist and teaches maths - sometimes physics - and sciences in high school. We can say we are a 'musical' family 'cause Andrea plays the organ pretty well and the kids enjoy very much playing mom's piano and dad's organ in different ways... you could say that at home we have more musical instruments than anything else!!! So if you're planning to come here, you will be probably get involved in playing, singing or dancing some music; you will find your favourite because we are open to every kind of music... except hard rock (and heavy metal)!!!Gabriele (10yo) is a calm and funny boy, who likes to explore the world; his big PASSIONS are cars and everything that moves (trains, planes,...) SINGING, playing tennis, which he's very good at, and some soccer!!! Gioia (14yo) is a very sweet girl; she plays a lot to make-believe (she is always a princessin, dressed up with long mantels...), she dances and can spend a lot of time watching books, drawing and painting, besides preparing cookies and going to the theatre to see children stories or ballet. She is also a good swimmer and loves ice skating! We like very much to travel and to get to know new people, because we think it's the best way to open our minds and to enrich ourselves.
PHILOSOPHY
Let's Couchsurf!
And... let's have a beer!
And... let's play some music!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We experience all the forms of CS, from hosting, to surfing, to house-exchanging!
Really it's a great experience!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We experience CS every time we can! We went to France the last January (kind of last minute...) and the past year, in Belgium and the Netherlands a couple of years ago, and we keep finding this way to travel - maybe - the best we ever had, because it's definitely the best way to get in touch with foreign culture and people. We discover really more than what you could find in a travel guide!!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Well... we love reading books of almost every kind (Andrea especially) even if, with two kids, it's hard to look even at the main titles on the local newspapers!
About music, we love to listen to music, from classic music (mainly Bach, Chopin, Brahms and Schumann) to pop music (european groups such as Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Queen... and american ones especially Huey Lewis and the News, VanHalen, Billy Joel, but we surely have forgotten many others).
Movies... well, naturally Cecilia loves american comedies and Andrea action movies, but we also watch italian movies, both new and oldies goldies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Great happenings: - have met and married Andrea
- living with my two kids (is an everyday surprise)
- have been to Australia with a wonderful host family (we are still in touch after 23 years, they came to see us in June 2011)
- have played in a theatre in Tucuman, Argentina, with a wonderful public
- have given birth to Gabriele singing
- have met some very deep and touching people who have taught me a lot
Teach, Learn, Share
