Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to get used to living in Aalborg!
ABOUT ME
We are a couple living in Aalborg, both students. In his spare time Andreas plays music, Cecil sings in a vocal group. We like to go to the cinema, theatre, concerts. We also enjoy to go for a walk in the forests near Aarhus. In the winter time we bath in the ocean (and sit in the sauna afterwards!). We both like to travel and would like to do it more, if we had the money.
At the moment Cecil is doing research for her thesis - which means that she's staying in Manchester until christmas.
PHILOSOPHY
We are both quite socially indignant. We believe in solidarity!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We hope to be able to give visitors good experiences while in Aalborg - and to meet interesting people when travellig abroad!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm not experienced - but I've met quite a few couchsurfers at my friend's home, and I'm looking forward to exploring the possibilities!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: everything from Mozart to Stevie Wonder. Ravi & Anouska Shankar, Etienne Mbappe. Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Sufjan Stevens, Thomas Dybdahl, Rufus Wainwright...
Movies: So many... french, spanish... and others! Latest: "A Single Man" and "Welcome".
Books: Paul Auster, Siri Hustvedt. Zadie Smith, Hanif Kureishi. Would like to read a lot more, but as we are both students, most of the literature we read in these days is anthropological and sociological.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is a tough one. I guess... anything can be amazing. A cup of coffee in the sun in Aarhus in May. A rainy afternoon at Macchu Picchu. Sunset at Taj Mahal. A visit in the slums of Mumbai. An early morning drive in the hills of Kagera District, Tanzania...
Teach, Learn, Share
Well... I know quite a lot about anthropology and the anthropological way of understanding social interaction. I'm specialised in peace and conflict studies and have some interesting insights in regard to migration, mobilization, enemy images, genocide ideology, conflict resolution and so on.
Andreas is a guitar player and can teach a few tricks. He plays the citar as well (but here he's a beginner!). In terms of sociology he's (so far) specialised in work addicts and stress. But he's also interested in spirituality and likes some good discussions.
We are both interested in learning...whatever you want to teach :)
