I am a Chinese International student currently studying in the US. I love everything about art though I am an Econ major. The reason why I travel so much is that all those different cultural experiences and natural scenes can be inspiration for my music writing or play writing. On the other hand, traveling opens my mind so much and make me mature. Thus I decided to save up money and travel as much as possible.

Just a bit about my personality, I am a relatedly quiet person. I am always deep in thoughts. Thus college parties are just not my thing coz I don't see the point...which I derive absolutely no utility from them....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is obvious that students are broke, especially international students. Thus couch surfing is ideal. However, it is not the main reason why I registered on couch surfing. Couch surfing is the best way to get "local" and quickly get around. I stayed in hotel a lot when I was traveling with my mom as a kid and the only thing we saw are those typical tourist traps. However, when I was doing an internship in Mumbai India on my own for two months, I rent my own place with my colleagues and made lots of local friends. I was very lucky to know them because they showed me around lots of places that I could not have gone on my own and we happened to make music and recorded 3 songs!!!! Wish I can have more experience like that.

Interests

Music is the love of my life. I started listening to music non-stop since 3 on all genres. My favorite genre is rock, alternative rock, indie and heavy metal. Though I a pretty busy in College, I still make time to jam with my friends and write songs once in a while. (To tell you a secret....I down load almost 20 songs every other day!)

Movie is also an important part of my life. To be honest, I don't really like those blockbusters because all of them have the same story line... I love old movies and independent european movies. With the recommendation of my best friend whose major is theater, I have a super long list to go. Other than watching movie, I also love analysis, for example digging into the characters psyche and writing comments. I am currently taking basic acting. It is very nice to get access to movies from another angle.

I have so many interests.......It is just too much to list out: painting, fashion design, strategic planning (I have an educational startup....which is almost non-profit)....traveling, going to concerts, walking in the city alone.

I am a founder of a startup so I am good at making observation and brainstorming, which is quite interesting when I am offering special insight into my industry.

I love music and can sing very well, so you will be happy to hear me sing!

We can watch cool movies together and have intellectual discussions. (I am not that type of practical and dull econ major students...I took different humanity classes such as Shakespeare's tragedies, Islam and the West, Monstrous Tales and Basic acting and score high on them.)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I traveled a lot at my age that I can share lots of interesting traveling experiences. I cook Chinese food really well that If you want me to cook some of those great dishes, I am more than happy to do that! I am super artistic and love to engage in intellectual conversation. (other than my major which is kinna forced by my "practical parents") Thus Hosts can talk to me about philosophy, psychology, art, literature, economics, politics etc.
