Overview
About Me
No longer student who is still postponing real life. I've worked this past year to afford a three month trip to Hungary and Cuba (opposite sides of the globe, but both very interesting), and I hope to teach English in South America for part of the following year. At home in the US, I work with puppies and teach English on a voluntary basis to immigrants and refugees - it's my goal to work in an international nonprofit and so I'm trying to get all the experience I can!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travel is fun. So is meeting new people.
Interests
Creative writing, reading, women's and gender studies, makeup and fashion, travel, random factoids of any kind, soccer, family time. I suppose I'm not complex in the way of hobbies - you won't be able to talk about woodcarving, say, with me, or beekeeping, but I am curious about almost everything and ask whichever questions come to mind.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music veers from indie and depressed to old and uproariously upbeat. I'll go to sleep to Portugal. The Man, and dance to Dexy's Midnight Runners. Movies are PS I Love You, Love Actually, Moulin Rouge, Score The Hockey Musical, and Pirate Radio. I love too many books and can't name just a few. (Although currently I'm on a true crime kick - ask me about the police force and poison in Paris, or death fraud.)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've kicked the habit of binge-watching Netflix.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach things about English - editing, vocabulary, grammar, etc., because I love the language and using it colorfully. I have a long list of books I can share, mainly because I want someone to talk about them with me!
As for learning, anything and everything; even if you have hare-brained conspiracy theories on, say, numerology and demons, I will listen because I find it interesting!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a lot of really bad Garrison Keillor jokes. Aside from that, gluten-free recipes and Portland-hippie dogma.
No, actually, I'm really nice and not all of the jokes are from Garrison Keillor.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland
Countries I’ve Lived In
Hungary, Ireland, Nepal, United States
