About Me

I don't know exactly what to write down here, I had a basic profile "I'm from Uruguay, I love nature, meeting people, traveling, yadda yadda yadda" but once I requested a host to couchsurf me and he told me "be sincere, just TELL SOMETHING REAL from yourself" and he left me thinking.. Just write whatever you think you are, your real you... So... I found myself thinking, how do I write down something I don't know how to write in Spanish, but in English!
So I guess I just have to start writing about me, about how I enjoy little things in the day by day basis, seating at the sand and watching the waves crush, write, listen to music, any kind of music, I love to discover new artists, read a good book, those that won't let me close them even when I'm falling asleep in a chair, meeting all kinds of people, watch a good movie, explore the nature, take a long walk on the beach with my dog Uva, play with my nephews and nieces, enjoy a good glass of wine while having a good conversation with friends.
I'm a graphic designer who spent some years sitting 9 hours a day on a chair in front of a computer until one good day I realised that's not how I want to spend the rest of my life, so I decided to pack my backpack and go somewhere, I started with New Zealand. At this stage of my life, with 28 years old and not knowing what I want to do of it sometimes concernes me, but is what makes me discover myself in the daily basis, searching where to travel. I'm the kind of person who enjoys everything, even if they sound like opposites, because I think that knowing new people, learning from different minds, cultures, experiences is what gives me the freedom to choose what to take from each of them and make them part of my life.
I'm still growing up I (well, we all are, aren't we?) and this is a no-end journey. I will be really worried if some day I come to the conclusion that I have it all sorted and there's nothing else I can do or learn. There's when life stops being interesting.
Always smiling, talk a lot and stay in silence a lot, smile a lot and think a lot.
I'm from this little country on South America called Uruguay, we are known for being friendly and humble (there's the humble break, eh?) but I think that's what makes us more friendly, open to receive and give, I'm proud of my little country and of course I miss it, but traveling the world is enough to know I can't come back and just stay there. There's a lot to see out there.
I'm open to whatever the universe has for me.
Embrace what it's given to you!
So this is it, just wrote the first thing that came to my mind and I believe that's the most sincere statement someone can give.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I created an account because I wanted to host people in my place but that was never possible because I was spending all my time inside an office. Now that I'm "uncaged" I'm starting to see the world and want to meet as many people as I can, know their stories and learn from everybody and every experience.
The world is too big to stay in one place.

Interests

Knowing people, meeting with friends, go to the beach with my dog, enjoy the nature, reading books, drawing, know new places, enjoy good conversations.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music. Depends on my mood and the weather. I like to explore new artists, but most of what I enjoy listening to is English rock, Indie, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul...

Movies.
La vita e bella
Into the Wild
Whatever movie where Will Ferrell's in it.

Books. Almost every book from there writers:
Sarah Lark
Ken Follet
Stieg Larson

I have a big problem and is that when I start a book, even if I don't like it I HAVE to finish it. I read "Elizabeth I" I think is around 28373990 pages and I hate it, but read it from the first to the last page.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Close my eyes, point anywhere on the map and get there!

Teach, Learn, Share

While traveling I've been a house painter, builder, fruit picker and fruit packer, box maker, fish packer, waitress, bartender, babysitter, caregiver, wedding photographer, gardener, vineyard maintenance worker, farmer assistant, bar manager, cleaner... not sure I can teach anything about this but, hey, I really enjoyed them!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations and laughs, lot of laughs.
