Very recently I was asked how my friends would describe me, to which I answered it would depend on whether they are describing me as a person in general or as a friend. As a person, they would say I am smart, driven, and hardworking; as a friend, loyal, caring, and an advocate of tough love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In December 2007, I went on a 10-day trip through Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay. In Neuquen, Argentina, I had planned on staying at a camping ground thinking that perhaps they'd rent tents. Boy, was I wrong! I ended up devising a shelter out of two blankets and shoe laces. Had I been on this site, perhaps I could have avoided that situation.
Though now I have a very cool story to tell, I remember how fearful and insecure I felt from spending the night like that, and if at all possible I would like to keep others from experiencing those feelings. Plus, who knows when I might need hosting myself? Doing things for others is always good karma :)

MUSIC

I have an extremely eclectic musical taste; I like everything from XVI century English choral music to Latinamerican folk. What I listen to on a specific day is totally dependent on the mood I am in. However, if I had to pick an absolutely favorite genre, it would be Hair Metal. I love my Poison, my Warrant, and my Whitesnake.

If at all possible, I'd rather be contacted with some time in advance so I can make arrangements when hosting people. I understand that it may not always be possible and I am definitely willing to host people last minute, but I think it is stressful to both the traveler(s) and I to organize a stay with such short notice.
