About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be amazed by the world around me.
ABOUT ME
I'm a recent college graduate that's still living the college student life. I figure I'm allowed, since this summer is just the final chapter in my undergraduate existence! This summer is going to be spent working and chilling with friends and family. Looking to make lots of memories that I can bask in while spending the winter (well, summer there) working in Antarctica. There've been a few people who have asked me why on earth I'd want to go there. Well, I have a lifetime goal to visit every continent at least once, and how many opportunities do we really have to go to Anarctica and stay for an extended period of time? Become an insider? They either get it or they don't.
PHILOSOPHY
If everyone stopped thinking about "success" within the boundaries of economic definitions, we'd all be a lot happier and more enlightened.
Fate is the patterns and/or sense that happen to occasionally emerge from chaos.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I've only done some limited hosting. Really hoping to try out the surfing side of the deal when I go down to New Zealand next March.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None- I'm a newbie! Closest I've been is homestays during school-related study abroad programs and some very homey-feeling hostels.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: very eclectic; love classic rock, and rock in general; hip-hop when hanging out w/ friends and doing some social drinking; have a softspot for traditional/folk music; sometimes love to listen to classical, especially when studying
MOVIES: snatch; lock, stock, & two smoking barrels; office space; boondock saints; motorcycle diaries; mozart & the whale; van wilder; super troopers; chocolate; fantasia (the first)
BOOKS: ANYTHING BY TOM ROBBINS (favorites: Another Roadside Attraction, Jitterbug Perfume, and Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates); The Mists of Avalon; The Milagro Beanfield War; Pride & Prejudice
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
SEEN: when Italy won the World Cup in 2006 while I was doing an archaeology field school in Pompeii. I've never seen so many unified and elated (albeit drunk) people in one place.
DONE: getting "lost" in middle of nowhere in Tuscany (near Sienna), wasn't sure a bus was gonna come before dark if at all, so decided to hitchhike back to my guesthouse. The old guy that picked me up didn't speak any English, I spoke virtually no Italian, but we still managed to communicate somehow and had a great "conversation" all the way back to familiar surroundings.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
