About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To commit to a mission. But currently on a two year stint volunteering in Madagascar.

ABOUT ME

Impulsive, open-minded, perceptive. An island girl with a bad case of wanderlust. Appreciate good conversations, diverse cultures, and of course- exotic cuisine!

PHILOSOPHY

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
-T.S. Eliot

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Connect with likeminded adventurers. Crash couches when I can and host when I have a home (both of which, unfortunately, I haven't been able to do as often as I'd like). Enlighten others about the CS concept.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed for the first time in S. Korea in December '09, hosted in January '10, and ready for more!

Interests

Good books and beverages. Open spaces. Secondhand discoveries. Photo-ing and poeting. Spoken word. Written word. Words, in different languages. Postcard collecting. Inking skin. And acquiring new interests, always!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that moves me, and the list is long.
Most recently- Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Chronicle of a Death Foretold, and Patrick Watson's vocals. I'm also mad about Mad Men, haha.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen some incredible sunrises at home in Hawaii- camping at Kualoa, hiking up Lanikai, Sandy's early morning sessions. And watching the sun rise in different countries (Prachuap Khiri Khan in Thailand in '08, after surviving a motorbike incident and a gang of savage monkeys, for example; or Jungdongjin on the S. Korean coast after taking the midnight train on Children's Day '10) makes you realize that sunrises are amazing no matter where you are in the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Life is about intersections. The places you go and the people you meet are meant to be at the exact time and in the exact circumstance in which they were supposed to happen.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines

Countries I’ve Lived In

Madagascar, South Korea, Thailand, United States
