Hi, I'm Cees

I grew up in Enkhuizen, a little old quaint town at the Dutch IJsselmeer. I currently live in Groningen, where I moved to study and decided to stay when I got a job as a process engineer at a pharmaceutical company.

I'm pretty easy going. I enjoy knowing a bit about everything, trivia, tidbits of knowledge on random topics, and a bit more about science and technology, anything that's worth looking up.

Traveling and meeting new people, right? My first CS experience was in 2014 when I was traveling to Liverpool, and the friendliness and hospitality I encountered, and the experience to get to hear and share stories really made my weekend.

兴趣

Besides music, films and series (see below), I like going out, party, having a drink, or cook at home (and eat of course).

Unfortunately I didn't pick up an instrument until a later age, so my efforts on guitar are not suitable for a large audience, but I try to compensate my lack of talent with banter over instruments and equipment.

Beers, whether it's a Belgian triples, a British ales, a newfangled American IPA or one of the many wonderful beers that are made here in the Netherlands, I like to enjoy the complexity and endless diversity of beer. However, I enjoy nipping a good glass of whisky just as much, which also presents plentiful opportunities to discover, and I can't say no to a good glass of wine either.

I like almost any type of music, jazz old and new, blues, rock&roll, with a soft spot for surf, 60's/70's blues/rock, 80's, 90's.. anything that's not shit, and well.. some guilty pleasure shit too. And there's quite a lot of new original stuff being made now, I don't shy away from some techno when going out these days.

Movies: Anything Scorsese or Tarantino, indie flicks, anything in IMDB's 250 that I haven't seen yet..
