ABOUT ME

I'm pretty laid back, I love to go out and have fun, but I also find happiness in lounging @ the house w/ Phil and Nigel. I had lived in Chicago, San Jose, Atlanta(marietta),and St Pete, all before I turned 16, but I never really saw the world till I moved to New Orleans when I was 20. Holy Ride! stayed in the Big Easy for 10 yrs till Katrina rushed me out.Its a happy ending b/c while in N.O. I met my husband and had lifes greatest gift.. Nigel. We lived in ATL for 6 years following the storm. But nothing can stop our need to explore more, so we packed up our belongings and headed west! We are now living in San Diego!! Let the new adventures begin!

PHILOSOPHY

I live My life w/ positivity and smiles. It takes just one smile to meet just the right person at the right moment. Also crying is not neccesarily a bad thing. Esp in my case bc, anything that makes me laugh uncontrollably causes me to produce instant tears of joy:-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been surfing on various couches since I was 18. I enjoy the weekly gatherings when I'm able,ive met many surfers who have traveled the world. Such an inspiration for my own travels.

Interests

I get my kicks kissing and hugging my son as much as I can and as much as he'll let me.Daydreaming about Australia.. a place i've never been,but am destined to go to. Watching tv,going to the movies,reading books,hanging out with friends, and of course eating good food;-)
I enjoy the adventurous side of life from sky diving to zip-lining to kayaking or river rafting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my fav movies are Kill Bill 1&2, Pulp
Fiction,From Dusk till Dawn(get the theme yet?)I also enjoy mild horror/thriller movies The Ring, most vampire flicks(go Lost Boys!! and Buffy Vamp series), The Sixth Sense,things that are freaky and make me jump outta my skin.Action flicks are cool too The Matrix,Xmen,and Batman series,James Bond. I do enjoy some indie films esp Australian ones..Danny Deckchair,The Nugget,Love Serenade,Muriels Wedding. Only films I cant take are super violent, graphic tortue flicks! No Saw for me;-)
My music taste varies according to mood, some of my sure thing favs are The Beatles,60s and 70s old soul(Aretha,Marvin,Otis),I also enjoy some cheese,love ABBA,most 80s,some 90s,even less recent.Although i've been obsessively listening to Sia,Zero 7,Camera Obscura,Death Cab for Cutie,The Black Keys,Band of Horses,and Pink Martini and Radiohead. There are so many great songs and artists out there its really hard to pinpoint them all.
When im in the mood I love reading and even if im not in the mood for reading I almost always carry a book around just in case. Some authors I enjoy are Emily Barr,John Updike, Tami Hoag, Amy Tan,Anne Rice and Tom Robbins. I've read and enjoyed the Harry Potter books,and am currently somewhat working on the Twilight series. Travel reading, esp humorus ones are also books that get me excited. I just love books! Best entertainment!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My Dad took me skydiving when I was 15,no tandum diving. I jumped solo! Moving to New Orleans w/ only a suitcase and a lamp,that was a leap of faith, and my most spontaneous action to date.
Also going to the Bioluminescent Bay in Puerto Rico and swimming w the glowing dinoflagellates is very high on my amazing things done list!
Think I've got a new amazing one!! Spontaneously purchased 3 round trip tickets to Istanbul..more family adventures 11/11!!! Dreams into Reality:)

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn to scuba dive,snorkel,surf..bascically I wanna learn to live in the water! Im a pisces through and through;-)
Since my trips to Puerto Rico & Mexico I have a desire to learn Spanish. Why did I resist for so long?!
I can share information about New Orleans..that was my city for over 10 years and I just love it!!!
