ABOUT ME
I come from a small town on a small island in the middle of the ocean off the coast of New England. The winter's are lonely and bitter cold, but there's nothing else like it, and I love it even more each time I come home. I used to go to school at Mcgill University in Montreal, QC. But, while I was there, for the first time in my life I got home sick and I got the blues real bad.
So I made the decision to make things better. I transferred schools and I travelled (Belgium, Budapest, Croatia, Ljubljana...).
The change was most definitely for the better as I am happily finishing up an undergraduate degree at UMass Amherst and I really love it. Close to the silly little island, amongst friends, in a small little town. At least it's worked for a couple years.
College educated and graduated I moved back home for a bit. Worked a ton. Headed to west Africa with my brother- and hopped over to morocco. Then headed back across the Atlantic- worked on a ship for a few months. Took the mcats. And am now currently working my way up north from Argentina and chile through Bolivia, Peru n Ecuador.
PHILOSOPHY
open the heart. let the world in.
"don't be too timid and squeamish about your actions. all life is an experiment. the more experiments you make the better." - Emerson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't currently have a couch to contribute, but as soon as I do I will gladly open my doors.
As far as surfing, I have a great attitude and a desire to see how other people live! So if you please, let me in.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
No formal experience yet, I just have friends that have hosted loads of people and really loved it.
I grew up couch surfing at family homes and friends of friends places, so any sort of roof over my head will do. I am flexible and love to lend a hand in the kitchen!
Interests
I love microbiology, music, the atlantic ocean, the american river, sailing!, swimming, my dog (T-Beau) and cats (Cricket and LoveBug), laughing, good conversation and a warm cup of coffee. I am headed to med school after I get a bit more of the travel jitters out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
swimming in the waves of the Atlantic I call home, hitching through Patagonia to check out piedra parada, an open ocean passage on a sail boat that was about 13 days, hiked around dogon country, been to the pyramids, and stood up for something I believe in.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am really interested in medicine and more complete healing methods than modern western medicine has to offer. I would love to learn more about individual's or other culture's healing methods.
I also know how to knit, dabble with guitar and am a pretty swell cook... What can you share with me?!
