Overview
About Me
I am someone of the age of 22 years and of Ukrainian and German roots and enjoy studying abroad, here in Arnhem, the Netherlands. My study can be maybe described best as Visual Communication, which tries to talk about a wide scope of interests that I have (from cultural to scientific phenomena) through artistic means. I guess the core of my practise is the spark, the ugly, the strong voice, uncomfortable, the immersive, or the harmonious. :) Maybe this describtion helps, maybe it confuses completely. hahah
I have an immense curiosity for people, (including myself). I enjoy colours so much, that I feel like pointing that out aswell. I am now trying to set up my little vegetable balcony, so people that know how to sprinkle some angle dust, are always welcome.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I met so many amazing people, I wouldn't have met otherwise and every time it's a whole different experience, a new conversation, sometimes a deep connection and sometimes a nice way of sharing. I think it's a great way of sharing. I just want to encourage people to dare to meet one another, that go around money or fixed social settings.
For myself, I was never really a fan of exploring a place as a tourist. I can't deny that I am one but I really want to explore a city out of the perspective of someone (who is local). I want to get to know other cultures, other people and other mindset. That's a world where I want to live. I want to break down with prejudices, learn from experiences and in the same way find to myself. (I know, that sounds super cliche.)
I like the concept of couchsurfing because I want to believe that the world and people are kind, friendly and warm. That we are sharing what we have and help others doesn't matter where we come from and what we have.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read mostly non-fiction atm.
2 amazing books: "The Name of the Wind" -Partick Rothfuss; waiting for the final part since 6y.
"Homo Deus" changed the way I look at the world and myself completely. "Second Hand Time: The Last of the Soviets" by Swetlana Alexandrowna Alexijewitsch really thought me understanding to where my roots lie, but moreover it is a beautiful collection of poeple's stories and really touches. (You can tell it's a book I read recently).
I love arthouse movies and can be a series junkie. I'm also a lot of times down to watch a good movie. I'm very interested in cinematography and bad humour.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the greatest things was volunteering in the Rainforest in Costa Rica. I experienced the whole diversity of nature and wildlife super close and got to appreciate it way more. But not just the nature but also to be more in the moment. And beside of that I was forced to speak Spanish and had a fun time failing a lot because of that.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Thoughtful conversations and hilarious memes, the revelation that graphic design is not branding, self-made vegetarian food and nice housemates. Passion :)
