Hi! My name is Céline, I'm a franco-portuguese (who somehow doesn't speak a word of portuguese lol) 21 yo student from Lille, a small city in France and most of my family is from Faro, Portugal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people (both locals and travellers), discover other cultures, languages and improve my english. I've always been way too shy to approach people in real life but it has always been a bit easier when I'm behind a screen. Couchsurfing has helped me a lot when it comes to my social anxiety, it’s the best way to go out of your comfort zone.

Interests

Human rights are very important to me, which is why I’m an active member of a feminist organisation. But when I’m not being angry at the world or helping with my fellow members, I sing. Recently I’ve finally got on my big girl pants to pursue musical theater as a hobby, singing in front of other people is now something I can do!

Music, Movies, and Books

I’ve majored in Literature but reading any other things than YA books (like Percy Jackson/Harry Potter) is nearly impossible for me. I love book studies but reading actual books is another thing.
Musically, I enjoy everything that either makes me want to sing or dance, whether it's a musical or a good old Britney™ song though, as you can see, I am very fond of listening to pop music and musicals (Hadestown, Les Mis). I can’t belt but I do like to pretend that I can.
Series over films any day. My favourite series are usually comedies but every now and then I like to watch intense ones, only if they have happy endings though. This is my only condition.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done is rescuing my (annoying but cute) cat, Ortie. It means Nettle in french and it suits her very well as she likes to scratch. I think it’s also amazing that I still adore and cherish her even though she’s bullying me on a daily basis lol.

I’m not an intellectual nor a teacher but I can teach you the lyrics of 00s hit songs and modern musicals. Work on that vibrato before meeting me, you’ll need it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my cooking skills. I am not a super duper great cook but in order to survive university, I've mastered the art of cheap and simple vegetarian food.
I also pride myself in being a good listener and even though I’m an introvert, I like to talk a lot so whether you want company or not I’m your go-to-girl!
