About Me

Celine and I met in Sapa, Vietnam, 8 years ago and have been traveling ever since.
We wished... ;-)
Celine being french and me german, we were constantly moving between the south of France and southern Germany for several years before we moved to Strasbourg, France. Strasbourg is the seat of the European Parlament and located right at the border between Germany and France. A nice place to call home. But lets face it, there are more beautiful places out there in the world. To find them, we have been travelling and visiting various places all over the world in the past 8 years.
After a longer visit in Tansania in the beginning of 2015, we decided to pack our backpacks and leave for good. A dream come true. A few month later all things were sorted out and in august 2015 we left for our voyage around the world. Date of return? Still unkown... It all started in incredible India, where we spent almost 3 months. In the 14 months, that followed, we have been on the road, crossing through most parts of asia, visiting India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, China, Malaysia, Timor leste and finally Indonesia. Now we are crossing the pacific stopping in Vanuatu, french Polynesia and the Easter island. What comes next? south America. And then? who knows.... we are curious to hear your suggestions. what's your favorite place, which is the one destination we shouldn't miss out on?

Meeting different people originating from various ethnies and minorities, who still preserve their traditional way of life, has been one main interest of our trip so far. Visiting those people, who are often living in remote jungles or in high altitude, forced us to get way off the beaten track. Those unique cultures and traditional ways of life are threatened by our fast developing world. Globalisation everywhere. Thats what we came to see, before it is too late. With no hotels available in many areas we slept with locals and shared their everyday life.
But now, it's time for the next level and discover the world of couchsurfing. For our next destinations in the pacific and south america, we decided to focus even more on meeting people, exchanging ideas and learning from each other - starting with a visit at your place whereever you might live. We are excited to meet you...
