About Me

Dynamic, I love to travel and discover new places, countries and cultures.

I started to travel alone almost 15 years ago (14yo) starting with the US (I attended high school in Peoria near Chicago) and exploring Europe from west to east on different holidays. When I was 18 I spent 6 months in Australia (WHV) and then I continued my exploration in Asia (China, South Korea and Japan) where I spent 3 years travelling while writing my thesis.

After 10 years at UNI I decided to take a 6 months break and take the time to discover Canada and the US! I have been living in Vancouver for the last 5 years now and I would love to meet you if you want to discover that beautiful city or just get a coffee.

Fully Vaccinated against COVID (but don't mind meeting people who aren't)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel alone and I think that couchsurfing is an amazing way to meet new people and get a unique experience.

Indeed, if I am always happy to see the more touristic attractions, I also love to discover all the little places full of charm (such as cafés, parcs and little streets) that are only known by the inhabitants of the area. I will be delighted to receive any advice you might give me on where to go and even visit a little bit with you (if you have time).

My goal is to "feel the true ambiance" of the different cities, I think that meeting and chatting with some people already living there everyday is a good way to get a real experience of the area and see what their personal feelings are regarding the country.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all types of music, especially pop/rock and classical music.
I am a big reader (I always have a book on me) and I watch a lot of movies and TVShows.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most incredible experience happened in China and it was king of a couch-surfing experience (even if it was not a planned one ^^).
I spent 3 days in the middle of the mountains far away in the Chinese countryside. We were hosted by a lovely family of 9 people (within 4 generations) and even though they didn't have electricity or running water (they cooked over a big fire) it was one of my nicest and more meaningful experience.
Even if they had nothing to spare they still took us in, gave us food and beds and shared their stories and way of life with us.
It is funny to notice that we were 4 french students from Lyon at the time and, even though they didn't speak a single word of french or english, they knew more about the "revolte des canuts de Lyon" (our city) than us ^^

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always happy to talk about my trips and I am looking forward to learn about yours.
I speak French and English and I think (and hope) that I can remember a little bit of my long lost Chinese. ;-)
I would like to practice Spanish and Chinese and learn Sign language if you know if.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am always happy to talk about my experiences, may they be about my different travels or on a more personal level and I am looking forward to learn about everything you can tell or teach me.
