Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Celine, I am half Belgian, half Italian, living in Brussels (Belgium).
I've lived in Berlin, Boston and Cambera.
Currently learning Swedish and still working on improving my Spanish.
I grew up in Belgium, spending all my holidays as a child in Italy, my second hometown being Lake Como :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I prefer quality than quantity, and with couchsurfing I experienced much more quality in my traveling experiences than I used to before. I met incredible people in my couchsurfing journey, some became real friends, even when I sometimes hosted them or been hosted only a night or two. Even when I meet couchsurfers only for a few hours and never saw or heard them again, every encounter was worth it. This is why I continue doing couchsurfing, mainly hosting, even though I don't have much time with work.
Meeting local couchsurfers' hosts is a great opportunity to have a different insight on the country you visit, the experience becomes somewhat more real, getting to know the life and reality of the people living in the visited country.
I also like to host, it allows me to travel with the spirit. I like to help people discover and understand better my home country and city. I'm happy to contribute in disseminating some bits of Belgian culture and traditions.
My place is not a free hotel. So if you are not ready to some kind of small talks, do not ask me to host you. This is also why I will only host when I am sure I have some time to spend with my couchsurfers.
Interests
Yoga, meditation, ayurveda, photography, videos and short-movies.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite books:
- Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge from Rilke
- The Celestine Prophecy from James Redfield
- Books from Osho.
I am a music lover, cannot imagine life without it, hence I like many types of Music from traditional French Music, Pop and rock, Latin and African to chamanic or "yogi" music (Deva Pramal).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Choosing one amazing thing is hard when you got the luck to experience amazing things while traveling. My top 4 would be:
1/ a traditional vietnamese wedding in Ho Chi Minh,
2/ spending the night at an Argentinian couchsurfer place in the midst of the sub-tropical forest of Iguazu (and being eaten by mosquitoes)
3/ hiking in Kakadu National Parc in Australia, one of the most amazing places I've seen,
4/ fishing in a grey and rainy day in New Foundland with friends in a small boat while spending a weekend in a small island with no electricity, and surprising other guests of the island by doing a 'mummers' "allow'in dance" in the evening. Sooo much fun!
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to share about personal development experiences, my yoga practice and exchange on cultural and travel experiences. And just l like to learn in general, e.g. countries traditions but also on a more personal level about healthy habits, practices I don't know about linked to energy and healing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some of my time for a more personal experience of my country. If the Belgian Red Devils are playing while you are in Brussels, be ready to become a fan ;-)
