About Me
[PLEASE. I'm not on CS because I want to find a boyfriend.]
Hi CS World!
After a year in New Zealand, a year in Taiwan, and 4 months in Latin America, I'm now back in France to rest and figure out my next steps. I don't really have a steady home but I'm now living in a nice flat in the center of Mulhouse where I can start hosting again!
You can read my adventures on my blog if you wish to : http://wildside.pixtache.fr/en
I'm slowly translating all of my posts in English, but it takes time :)
I even wrote a piece that got published on the Couchsurfing blog: https://blog.couchsurfing.com/why-you-should-start-talking-to-strangers-4-taiwanese-generosity/
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been hosting a lot while living in Strasbourg, and found it was a great way to connect and meet people from everywhere in the world. There's always something to share, to learn, to talk about while meeting new people.
I've been hosted as well, while in Japan, New Zealand, Bali, Singapore, Taiwan and Mexico and really enjoyed the experience.
Interests
Reading books and comic books.
Travelling, discovering other countries and people.
Drawing, painting and being self conscious about it.
Drinking tea like a granny.
Swimming and scuba diving.
Hiking mountains.
Wandering around cities at night.
Daydreaming on long bus rides.
Postcrossing and Geocaching are so damn cool!

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book ever : "L'écume des jours" by Boris Vian.
But I'm also fond of fantastic and science fiction books, such as Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Phillip Pullman, Haruki Murakami, J.K. Rowling etc.
Music : Muse, The Black Keys, Phoenix, Arctic Monkeys, C2C, Woodkid, First Aid Kit, Alt+J, Lilly Wood and the Prick, Emilie Simon, The XX, Of Monster and Men , etc.
If I had to choose one movie: Spirited Away.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I "occupied" day and night for ten days the place where I used to work. In order to get some decent redundancy compensation.
And... It worked :)
So, here's my advice: always fight, don't regret anything.
Sometimes little things can turn into great big fucking things.
I also left my family and friends, sold all my stuff, quit my apartment and came to New Zealand with the working holiday visa and no plans ahead... I was scared as hell before going into the plane, and then all the fear went away when I first landed in Japan and then New Zealand. The year I spent abroad taught me even more than I could have ever imagined.
Since then, I spent a night in an Onsen Ryokan in the mountains near Nagano, I swam with dolphins and sea turtles in Indonesia, hitchhiked through South Island of New Zealand, hiked 4 days and 3 nights on the Kepler Track all by myself, passed my scuba diving open water certificate in Bali, baked and sold delicacies from my home region at a flea market in Taiwan, cycled the East Coast of Taiwan, lived in a little farm in the middle of the mountains of Ecuador to learn Spanish, and so on..
Teach, Learn, Share
Couchsurfing is all about sharing experiences.
And for me, the best way to get to know someone is having a good talk with a nice warm cup of tea or a nice meal.
This is why I really enjoy cooking (I'm better at baking actually) because all good friendships can start with sharing a piece of cake :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you French and English, how to fold origami cranes, how to bake a lemon pie or a chocolate mousse, how to pack a bag for traveling a year, but most of all...
I'm friendly, respectful and easygoing and would love to hear about your background stories, share my playlist and my favorite books (there's a lot!) with you.
There is always something good to learn, to teach, to exchange trhough CS. That's really the beauty of it.
