About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To enjoy every moment on this unique ride called my life.
ABOUT ME
Let's see, I am a 24 year old musician on the quest to find a new place to call home. I did a year of grad school here in Los Angeles, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I try to be environmentally conscious, and I try to do my small part in being responsible for my lifestyle. I am decidedly liberal, and would align myself with Buddhist if forced to spiritually categorize myself. If you're curious, I play cello, upright bass, bass guitar, mandolin, violin, piano, and guitar, in that order.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to help make people aware. Through language, directly or indirectly, I try to be in the present moment, so I can bring others with me to the here & now. Just doing that is a miracle unto itself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, I just joined up, but in the future I hope to help others out even more than I surf.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While it wasn't officially couch surfing, I did stay in some pretty nasty couches while on tour in 2008 with Blowfly. We were playing all over Germany, and some clubs would have a band room where we could crash for free, and sometimes they were pretty beat up. Good Times! At least it beat sleeping in the van.
Interests
I really enjoy cooking, all different styles & flavors. I like to garden, but that's tough in the desert. I enjoy cycling, but I don't own a bike :-( A good movie or book always hits the spot. I hit the gym a good amount, doing something physical every day makes me feel so much better. I like to do Tai Chi & Yoga. I love cool new technological gadgets, but am usually too poor to afford them. And I love music, obviously.

Music, Movies, and Books
Ok, I'm not gonna go off here, so the top 5 of each.
Movies: The Fountain, Princess Mononoke, Anchorman, Hero, Zeitgeist
Music: Joni Mitchell, Larry Young, D'Angelo, Brian Blade, Jaga Jazzist
Books: The Fountainhead, This Is Your Brain on Music, Death Note, The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching, Ignore Everybody
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Performed in Dresden, Germany, on the shores of the Elbe to 16,000 people. And then they booed the entire 45 minute set.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I could teach you how to play chopsticks, or how to make the best pumpkin-cranberry muffins, or how to be still with yourself. I'd like to learn all about everything on which I am ignorant, so there's a lot to choose from.
