Sobre Mim

CURRENT MISSION

What a Wonderful World..

ABOUT ME

I have no memory for things I have learned, nor things I have read, nor things experienced or heard, neither for people nor events; I feel that I have experienced nothing, learned nothing, that I actually know less than the average schoolboy, and that what I do know is superficial, and that every second question is beyond me. I am incapable of thinking deliberately; my thoughts run into a wall. I can grasp the essence of things in isolation, but I am quite incapable of coherent, unbroken thinking. I can't even tell a story properly; in fact, I can scarcely talk..." -- Kafka, Diaries

PHILOSOPHY

the perfect time to do sth is when u do it!

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

Movies I really liked
(1) Memento for the way it puts the observer into the same position as the main actor. [Hitchcock's "Rear Window" does the same, admittedly. So the idea is not new. But watching "Rear Window" leaves you as bored as the main actor ;)
(2) Dogville for the same reasons that I like plays by Berthold Brecht (such as The good person of Sechuan): You sympathise and suffer with the main character. You hope they can live their ideals, and get frustrated as they can't.
(3) Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - I thought I had stopped watching a movie over and over and over and over again when I was little (yes, kids do do that!) but this one got me back into that fashion. Hilarious.
(4) I also liked "Serial Lover", a French movie about a 34/5 year old woman trying to make a decision on who of her boyfriends she should finally marry -- also dark humour and lots of slap stick). I may drop this from my list as I am getting nearer 35.

4) Just saw Fatih Akin's new movie "Soul Kitchen" in Berlin -- hilarious and includes some really nice Greek tunes. I highly recommend.

I love many different types of music. Somehow I got really into Greek/Turkish music.

I am supporting the Arbeiterkind.de network, which tries to help young people from a socio-economically disadvantaged background and who are the first in their family to think about going to university, make their university education come true. This includes anything from 'just' listening to identifying scholarships, looking through the application, and if need be, support 'against the family'.

I have done some courses on Enneagram, a character typology created by Sufis to help people understand who they are and who to look for in order to become more balanced people. If you are interested in knowing who you are according to this, drop me a line and we can go through some questions.

I have a couple of German board games (some of which have also been turned into English/Greek/Polish etc versions). Germans are the board gaming nation and have a lot of stuff that is a lot more fun than Monopoly. Although, Monopoly can also be fun if you allow people to sing a song at the hotel bar to pay the bill ;) Happy to introduce these to you when you visit. Subject to luggage constraints I can also bring a game along.
