ABOUT ME

My roommate and I are seniors at the Catholic University of America in DC. I study education and gender and he studies sociology. I'm a pro-choice activist and run a feminist group on campus. We're both pretty social people and we've always got friends at our place. We go to a lot of shows, explore bars and restaurants in DC, frequent parks and flea markets, and watch a lot of movies. We have a badass cat named Siouxsie Sioux.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love hosting. Even more I love surfing. We're planning a trip to South America in July and hope to surf for most of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to the site and have hosted two couchsurfers so far. Most of my couch surfing experience has been through friends I've met at hostels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really dig music. I'd love to show visitors where to find good music in this city. Favorite bands are Pixies, Gogol Bordello, and as of recently, The National. Favorite movies are Kill Bill, Waynes World, Big Fish, Head On, and anything involving John Cusack or Wes Anderson. Books, White Oleander, Running With Scissors, Breakfast of Champions, Post Office, Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs. We both can always agree to listen to minimalist instrumental post rock and we both own Harry Potter wands.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'v been a part of political demonstrations in several countries? Fighting nazis (in 2010) was pretty mind blowing.

I saw baby turtles hatch on the beach in Puerto Rico.
