About Me
CURRENT MISSION
As a student of architecture, I travel to and actively learn about the spaces in which we live and spend our time. I intend to design buildings and experiences that will last for years to come.
ABOUT ME
I spend a lot of time outside, working on carpentry projects, fixing my car and staying active. In my spare time I enjoy fly fishing, frisbee golf and cooking.
For the past five years I worked at Google, modeling 3D cities for Google Earth. (Ask me if I worked on your city!) Now, I am taking time off to travel this summer, before starting graduate school this fall. I am enrolled in the Master of Architecture program at California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to rationalize everything I see in a way that simplifies my understanding of it. This is an instinct that has developed over the past 10 years. By simplifying what I see and do, I can focus my attention on the meditation of life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As a new member of CS, my first steps are to learn what makes a successful couch surfing experience. As a current traveler, I am witnessing how hosts welcome their guests.
I hope someday that visitors will stay with us in San Francisco, as we will be able to show them around the city and cook them dinner and breakfast. What makes couch surfing a great experience is learning about people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couch surfing experience was from when I was 13 years old in Massachusetts. My next door neighbor and I would stay up super late working on our computers (probably playing games and hacking our machines. This was in 1994.) We were sometimes too tired and I would just sleep on his couch instead of walking home.

Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to share my understanding of architecture and city planning with people. I gained knowledge from my work at Google, where I constructed 3D buildings for Google Earth.
I offer to teach 3D modeling to anyone who wants to learn. We can start with your house or your office building; it's entirely up to you!
Oh yeah... if you are not intersted in learning 3D modeling, then we can make an incredible meal or two while you stay with us ;)
